[04:23:17] I've SEEN a flare from it before. pretty bright. [04:25:55] supposedly it is now in 24 hours of sunight [04:26:04] so highly visible anywhere anytime [04:26:15] I saw it last night [04:27:49] mm.. nice little jet, makes round trip to one pole with 2 passengers.. mm.. [04:29:05] ? [04:29:12] oh, in ksp [04:30:21] ya.. sort of modeled a bit after the Hawker Siddly plane [04:31:00] just testing things out, been stupid slow on one of the careers in 1.3.. No. Not watching live :P [09:08:53] Galileo and Iridium launch on the same day. Wow [09:11:18] i calculated it as around 7 in the morning [09:11:25] probably can see it [09:11:55] oh nextrocket says 7:50 [09:11:59] that is even laye [09:12:23] i sure hope there is a landing because they were just discarding the old block 4 boosters [09:13:47] I guess they'll land it [09:13:52] B5 needs some tests :D [09:20:35] hehe, almost looks like the last symbol from stargate 0 [09:20:40] eh, not supported by the font [09:20:59] oh wait that is just the usual problem hexchat has lately on windows [09:29:59] ehehe, I see it :D [09:36:34] this happens when you add too much hot sauce [10:14:54] https://i.imgur.com/uXqn6An.jpg [10:15:23] electrician jokes are the best [10:15:55] heh [10:15:56] https://i.imgur.com/n94uvIX.png [10:16:27] george soros... there are a lot of puns about his name here. soros could be interpreted as serial, so of course they are jokes like this [10:17:49] also https://cdn.iwastesomuchtime.com/12420120533174.jpg [10:20:10] Althego, interestingly, the japanese version of that has both ends going to ground instead of being bridged [10:23:39] http://kaitodenshi.jp/shop/shopdetail.html?brandcode=000000000766&search=%C4%F1%B9%B3%B4%EF+0%A6%B8&sort= [10:58:32] GlassYuri: https://i.imgur.com/aehLzTT.gifv [10:59:07] TheKosmonaut, wat [10:59:20] yes [10:59:52] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/254984631512858634/470183101314891808/engine_plate.jpg [11:00:54] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/254984631512858634/470183358845026304/nose.jpg [11:01:21] I should probably open one of the cooling holes to allow air for the motor [11:34:27] #KSPOfficial: mode change '+o APlayer' by ChanServ!ChanServ@services.esper.net [11:37:22] (local) leet time [11:37:50] problem: game throws exceptions solution: turn down overzealous error checking [11:48:30] https://www.eso.org/public/unitedkingdom/news/eso1824/?lang [12:00:02] Amazing! Something's obviously wrong in this multiple kilovolt setup. Yay! Let's get a little closer and film in on my smartphone! [18:56:05] Film it* [19:01:53] Saw a guy nearly lose his fingers to a magnet for YouTube. [19:04:16] There are 10 sorts of people in this world, and they can be classified by the number of fingers they have. [19:04:18] :P [19:04:53] (Before anyone questions this, consider type 1 to be less than 2 or more than 10 fingers) [19:25:09] I'm back from my IRC break [19:55:15] lol, I wonder if anyone has ever tried to build a mini railgun using harddrive magnets [20:05:44] Draconiator: yes [20:06:25] that really wouldn't be a railgun... or even a coilgun. [20:07:13] a railgun induces current between two rails, with the projectile being a bridge between them. A coil gun uses literal coil electromagnets that are syncronized to pull a projectile through a progressing magnetic field. [20:11:45] doesn't work.. you can't "turn off" the magnetic field, so you can't release the projectile [20:13:10] great for targeted landing though [20:14:30] not really, magnets aren't really known for their remote force capabilities. [20:14:53] And attempting to use a magnet in a railgun or coilgun would cause weirdness with a permanent magnet. [20:21:01] yeah [20:23:10] I work for an ISP that used to do repairs. We had somwhere around 100 old hard drrives laying around. some from teh early 90's. We took them completely apart to recover the copper and other materials. Took us over a month but in the end we had enough copper to cover my Boss's retirement party. We have enough otehr metals to cover new computer hardware for me [20:23:13] *had [22:30:53] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/254984631512858634/470356947204440085/DSC_9368.JPG [23:22:53] #KSPOfficial: mode change '+o Dman979' by ChanServ!ChanServ@services.esper.net
